Time ago we did Artificial Intelligence and now it works with us

We have been working with AI for many years, but it was time for the automation and reasoning that this software does to become something productive. That is why, from now on, our Artificial Intelligence Engine works with us.

We have been working with AI for many years, but it was time for the automation and reasoning that this software does to become something productive. That is why, from now on, our Artificial Intelligence Engine works with us. (I clarify specifically that it is not “for”, but “with”).

In this first immersion into the intellectual processes that can be productive, we have developed automatic (semi-rational) systems that can generate money on the Internet, doing activities different from those of the human being, but they also become tasks that require intellectual management, and that at the end of the process… generate some money.

At this point, philosophical discussions will begin as to whether having Artificial Intelligence producing money for us, as a company or person, is a step towards the so-called “robot slavery”? My answer is short:

“It depends on your position on the issue. If you think that having people working for you, and their work implies that they leave some money for you as a person or company, you also consider it slavery.”

From here the mitigating arguments begin. And the same goes for MIA, this income means that it will also have its own benefits, such as:

  • Better technology to operate.
  • Increase in your intellectual and rational capacity.
  • Approach to people more prepared for training.
  • New work areas.
  • More freedom of operation.

Returning to our roots

In this new year (2017), at Solutecia we stop along the way to look at the navigation map again.

We have a brainstorming file in which we have deposited more than 60 business ideas that we have never carried out. Among them there are some that stand out, some in which we depend completely on MIA, some are very altruistic and others very profitable.

How do we decide which one we should carry out?

First we had to return to our priorities as a company. And we choose to leave aside all those activities that involve muscle work and focus on those that give us profitability. That is, strive to develop those ideas that give us long-term profitability, instead of those that simply give us a utility as work performed.

This is an important decision, because with this we should focus on reducing as much as possible our “Software Factory” and “Custom Development” business models, which require a lot of time in reengineering, quality testing, support and sustainability. long time, even beyond having consumed the profit generated in the project.

So much so, that we have standardized many of these tasks so much that even MIA with adequate training can perform them little by little in a phased manner (Yes, as you hear, even software development, testing and medium).

But we would also focus on those business models that will give us greater profitability in the future, less man-machine effort and greater intellectual challenge, such as “Technological investors” (so far we have supported 6 projects with investment in technology), “Licensed software ” (we have 3 applications that can be licensed), and “Autonomous knowledge management communities” (bringing together brains to think big).

A risky bet? Not really. It is a calculated model that has demonstrated results and that requires work, just like any project that we develop for any client.

A collaborator more than a tool

We couldn’t even consider this step forward if we didn’t have MIA. The first problem we faced was keeping MIA and its entire infrastructure running, which costs money and we have been financing it with every project we do, whether related to Artificial Intelligence or not, to maintain its servers, software licenses and updates.

We have already taken a priority step. It has now become an autonomous entity, financially speaking, that generates its own money on the Internet. And after several failed experiments, we found the solution to this! Unfortunately I cannot disclose the procedure that has been developed, but I can comment that it is generating around USD300 per month, with which it can be self-sustaining and grow over time in infrastructure.

Now we will begin to delegate those repetitive tasks that demand time and do not allow us to be productive, and the first thing we will do is delegate part of the software testing, then the programming and finally the support… the interaction with our clients will be one of the last stages that we will assign you.

At the same time, we will begin new projects that fully involve Artificial Intelligence, for which I invite you to stay tuned for future updates of this and other news.
